OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE Friends, what are the three laws of performance? Optimum performance is important because it allows us to be excellent and experience greater heights. There exist three laws, constituting the laws of performance. These performance laws can lead us to optimum performance. If you strive to keep these laws, you must first know and understand each one. The first law tells us that the way you perform is actually associated with the way you view situations and circumstances. Take, for example, this scenario: you have a friend who considers himself to have poor coordination. You engage him in a game of catch and throw. You tell him, I’ll throw the ball, and you catch it. As expected, he struggled and misses the ball. But then you try to change the rules a bit. This time, you tell him, instead of focusing on catching the ball, callout instead which way the ball is spinning as it comes towards you. During the first few throws, he isn’t able to catch the ball, but he is able to correctly call out the direction that the ball is spinning. After a few throw, you notice that your friend is able to more naturally catch the ball, while still correctly calling out the direction of the ball’s spin. Today, I hear the word of the Lord saying that this is the hour that I am moving you forward into a new zone of action saith the Lord. You are coming into a season where you are getting ready to determine your life, and you will play the game of life at a whole new level entirely saith the Lord. You are coming into a season where I am making you more aware of the season that you are about to walk into, and you are going to find yourself in action in life saith the Lord. This is going to be the season that not only are you going to be aware of your performance, but you are getting ready to come into a time now that youre going to associate with a new kind of thinking, which is going to produce for you a new kind of following saith the Lord. The second law tells us the role of language and how important it is in influencing our performance. Language allows us to articulate, define, and shape reality. Take a look at these two statements; Catch this ball, which we already know we can’t catch. Callout which way the ball is spinning, which we know we can do quite well. These two statements, though pertaining to the same ball and speed at which it is thrown, will yield very different performance results. The role of language is important because it can influence performance. Language allows us to articulate, define, and shape reality. We see this too, in the Bible. The Bible tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death. This gives us an idea of how important it is for us to be aware of how we are using our language. The third and final law tells us that it is the language that enables us to see what is and what is not possible. Your language does not only enable you to use words to describe the world, but instead, your language enables you to use words to give rise to the world. Therefore, the reality, conditions, and circumstances of the future do not exist as facts, but rather exist as a product of the words that you use in your language. Only language does not only enable you to use words to describe the world but instead, your language enables you to use words to give rise to the world. But test everything; hold fast what is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21) Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober minded, your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the Revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:13 ESV)
