OREGON VEHICLE CODE BICYCLE RULES: PART 2 ORS 814.420 Failure to use bicycle lane or path. Bicyclists must use a lane or path if one is present on or adjacent to the roadway; but his statute can only be enforced if a public hearing has been held directing the mandatory use of the bicycle path or lanes, which to date has not occurred. ORS 814.430 Improper use of lanes. Bicyclists riding on a roadway at less than normal speed of traffic must ride as close as practical to the right curb or edge of the roadway; except: - When overtaking and passing another bicycle or vehicle - When preparing to turn left; or - When necessary to avoid hazardous conditions. Bicyclists may ride on the left side of a one-way street. Two bicyclists may ride side by side if they do not impede traffic.
