ORITSEJAFOR: A PASTOR AND A GANGSTER - Like him or not, one thing you have to admit, Pastor (?) Ayo Oritsejafor got class. The designer suits, the old fashioned Bobby Brown hair style - probably a hangover from a funky past - a gangster like cross that will make the famous rap artist, 50 Cent green with envy, all add up to give a picture of a man thats anything but Godly. Floating in obscene, sudden and unexplainable wealth which sources many believed is the prestigious office of the President of Christian Association of Nigeria, an office he is tirelessly working to desecrate in forward and reverse motions, mostly in compliance to an innate desire to support and please a non performing - some even say non-existent - government of a fellow Niger Deltan using the Christian umbrella body as an effective tool. Of course, CAN and Ayo Oritsejafor are two strange bed fellows and should be seen and accepted as such. Just as Nigeria is antonymous, yet in full asphyxiating grips of the PDP, so is CAN in the hands of Oritsejafor. Where Jesus rode a donkey to guide the flock into a heros welcome in Jerusalem, Oritsejafor does so from the cosy comfort of a private Learjet supposedly provided by a church he taught not to notice thousands of shoeless members among the flock. Perhaps, scared of going through the travails of Jesus when he stood up against the tyranny of the Roman state, Oritsejafor might have decided to be a state compliant man of God to avoid a 21st economic crucifixion. Such an amazing confidence in God by a supposed man of God! Paired with Judas Iscariot, a saint couldnt be more sparkling and conspicuous. At least Judas Iscariot was remorseful of his betrayal whereas, the romance between Oritsejafor and our 21st century Pontius Pilate is not the remorse inducing type. Despite his ills, I cannot see Judas Iscariot joining Pontius Pilate in plundering the treasury of Judaea. At least, its on record Judas was so remorseful as to return the 30 pieces of silver he was paid to betray Jesus, and even cried I have sinned in that I betrayed an innocent blood. It will take eternity for Oritsejafor to admit his betrayal to the innocent christians whos name and honor he is selling to feather his nest. In just a few days, Omadina, Warri, Delta State will witness another Presidential jamboree to be hosted by the flamboyant and gangster like CAN President for the launching of his brand new private university, Eagle Heights University. Just like me, you may be interested to know the source of funding of such a multi-billion Naira investment. What kind of a business is Oritsejafor into that could support the idea of building a university by a man already maintaining a learjet and an ostentatious designer lifestyle EFFORTLESSLY! Is it from the churchs tithes or another source too complex for ordinary human mind like mine to comprehend? Perhaps that may explain why simple honest christian leaders like Bishop Kukah and Arch Bishop Onaiyekan command more respect even in the deepest chambers of Vatican than this false claimant to Godliness. Their humility and sensitivity to the flock and humanity is exactly as Jesus preached and lived for. Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem when he could ask his Lord in heaven for a nil mileage, brand new, best of the best LEARJET to instill humility into humanity not to encourage corporate thugs like Oritsejafor to use the word of God as a cheap source of worldly comfort and easy wealth. Beside Nigeria, I doubt if any country could live in absolute fiction and a deep sense of delusion typified by cheap characters like Oritsejafor. Perhaps, the reason why we couldnt come up with a solution to myriads of problems asphyxiating Nigeria is because we are searching in wrong places. Imagine Oritsejafor pontificating about the Chibok girls in a manner that left many decent christians embarrassed. Of course, it was embarrassing. This is a supposed man of God but, nothing in his physical and moral attitude in simple issues the whole world is united about could suggest minimu grasp of the situation. To Oritsejafor, its just another day to make Pontius Pilate happy. His idea of a CAN President simply means an appointment to hit anybody with conflicting response to contemporary issues with his master, the President. Anybody who crosses path with Oritsejafor on opposite lanes will have a taste of the bitter pills of a confused gangster living an ungodly life in the name of God. He is the type Malcolm X described as a house slave, who get sick when the master is sick - who, on seeing his master looking a little green will ask, Master, are we sick?
