OSCAR NOMS 2015: Pretty close to what was expected with a few twists here and there. Particularly with the two Actress categories: Adams and Aniston are out, Maria Cotiliard is in (Ouch! Aniston may be beautiful, rich, and successful but thats still gotta hurt) and Laura Dern takes the unstable fifth supporting slot for WILD. Really wish Miles Teller and/or Damien Chazelle were more recognised for their work in WHIPLASH (which is just a movie miracle of a film) and Finchers GONE GIRL deserved way more nominations for boldly delivering the dark heart of modern America, but very happy that Takahatas THE PRINCESS OF KAGUYA is in as well as the insanely good anarchic anthology, WILD TALES. My final note. I certainly hope AMERICAN SNIPER is worth the attention being given to it. Time, and a few discounted Tuesday night movie tickets, will eventually tell all :)
