OSCAR TRIAL: Right of Freedom (Media) versus Right of Dignity of Reeva Steenkamp and her family. This case seems a bit of a compromising position. Professor Gert Saayman, witness who will testify in terms of the pathological and graphic evidence of the wounds of Reeva Steenkamp. Application - media and video live streaming not to be allowed due to the right of dignity to protect Reeva Steenkam and her family and evidence should not be made available. This case is surely not about the right to freedom of the Media, but rather to protect the dignity of Reeva Steenkamp and her family and the public and Media should not be considered more important thatn this case before the court. Council for Media made a compromise that none of the evidence will be published if not agreed by both the state or defense. Judge. Thokozile Masipa will address this issue tomorrow, 11 March 2014 and make and order as it pleases the Court. Therefore, no LIVE streaming will be available.
