OSMAN AYARIGA: FORMER PRESIDENT OF NUGS WRITES: It is with mixed feelings as i write this open letter to the students of this country. Its rather unfortunate some supposed responsible students have decided to hide behind ghost names on this same social network to make wild serious allegations and assertions. Where were all these so called names when the union was in disarray and some of us had to fight through thick and thin to make sure the union enjoys what it is enjoying today. For the first time in many years NUGS returns from congress without debt, but i can clearly see the results of paying off your debt in the circles of some of your officers who thought debts should be transcended to the next generation and the monies rather used to pay yourselves hefty ex- gratia at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian student. Point of correction out there am not a chairman of any committee of NUGS. I was only called to help in a capacity as an Ex- officio member of the constitutional review committee, what i get again is people sending messages and post on their walls that i have intentions of reducing the votes of some institutions, let me state without fear that i have no interest so far as this years NUGS congress is concerned and i equally have no intentions of running for nugs president again. I only thought it was pertinent that the constitution becomes more resolute to prevent the case of a split of the union that happened some years back I have decided to obliterate my membership from the committee not because of pressure of any sort or duress. I am doing so because my conscience tells me so. Attached is my letter of resignation AYARIGA OSMAN ABDULAI KNUST Department of Architecture Kumasi President National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) Ghana-Accra 7th June 2013 Dear Andrews, RESIGNATION FROM THE CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE Please accept this letter as A formal notice of my intentions to resign as an Ex-Officio member of the NUGS constitutional review committee with effect from the date of the letter. It is my understanding that the union needs my rich experience to help it with its review of the constitution. It was in furtherance of having a more stable union that made me accept the position as a member to help in the review. My resignation comes with a heavy heart attached with personal reasons. I still have the union at heart and always willing to help see a better NUGS. Should you require any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me. Yours Sincerely SINGED AYARIGA OSMAN ABDULAI Cc: CHAIRMAN, CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN, JUDICIAL COUNCIL NATIONAL OFFICERS NEC CC
