OSUN STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION NEWS: SHAME OF A NATION AS THE GRAND COVER UP IS EXPOSED Ballot papers: CP, INEC disagree The Osun State police command and the Independent national Electoral commission (INEC) openly disagreed Friday evening over the arrest of two people involved in over illegal movement of boxes full of already thump-printed ballot papers and other sensitive electoral materials. At a press conference in Oshogbo while State resident electoral Commission admitted that the people arrested were their staff, the Police Commissioner, Augustine Evbakhabokun however, denied anybody was arrested with electoral materials. Both the men,and the election material-laden hilux bus were released by the police, claiming the command was obeying order from above. It will be recalled that at the wee hours of Friday, residents of Ibokun, in Obokun Local Government Area of the apprehended two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission over illegal movement of boxes with papers already thump-printed. The officials were apprehended in the town by vigilant residents, who had trailed the Hilux van with Federal Government marked registration number FG 816 V01 after suspecting it was carrying sensitive election materials. Leaders of the APC who raced down to the scene had insisted that the officials along with the vehicle must be brought to the State headquarters of the police in Oshogbo for the content of the boxes to be opened. Meanwhile, in a release by APC Chairman and the Publicity Secretary, Osun Chapter, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi and Barrister Kunle Oyatomi respectively, the party described as appalling, the denial by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, who claimed that people caught with election materials actually missed their road. The statement said the Commissioner was economical with the truth in asserting that no one was arrested for diverting election materials meant for the state, arguing that Mr. Evbakhabokun did however inform the gathering of the destination of the election materials. In a related development, it was also gathered that INEC deployed far more electoral materials more than what is required in Ife zone. This, the APC, rationalised as another deceptive tactics to favour the PDP in the election.
