OSUN STATE: What if the Government of Ogbeni spends 35 Million - TopicsExpress

OSUN STATE: What if the Government of Ogbeni spends 35 Million Naira to bury Apostle Obadare? I direct this Million Dollars question to the teaming critics of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola on facebook , my humble self inclusive . After all, the same Government, at the directive/approval of Governor Aregbesola had earlier in the year, spent almost double this controversial amount of money on the burial of a less famous dead. Late Justice Kayode Eso was until his death a retired Justice of the Supreme Court. He died at the tail end of last year. His remains had a brief stop- over at the state capital-precisely at the Governor’s Office before it went to Ilesha for a final rest. Like Prophet Obadare, Justice Eso also was an Ijesha. These two illustrious sons of Osun State spent their life time making immense positive contributions to mankind through their respective chosen/ God given fields. Surely, history will never forget them. By the document pasted here, Late Justice Kayode Eso, is seemingly and arguably too, relevant, cherished and more honored by Raufu than Prophet Obadare hence, the disbursement of a whooping Fifty Million, Nine Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand, Eight Hundred Naira (N50, 949,800:00) for his burial rites as against Prophet Obadare’s N35 Million Naira. Besides is the hereunder facts that one may need to ponder upon in order to actually understand the underlining state of confusion that we may have found ourselves in Osun State in the hands of Emperor Rauf Aregbesola . The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Sikiru Ayedun who doubled as the Chairman of government 14 man committee set up to handle the burial said “The state government under Rauf Aregbesola, has given the state backing for this event, and has graciously approved the sum of N35million for the purpose”. Giving a breakdown of the financial contribution of the state government, Ayedun disclosed that N15 million was set aside for construction of mausoleum, N10 million for logistics for the burial ceremony and N10million for intervention work on the premises to accommodate the multitude and the adherents coming for the burial from far and near. Whereas and in the case of Late justice Kayode Eso that happened a few months before now the N51 Million Naira went thus: Protocol- - N4,205,000:00 Entertainment - N12,677,750:00 Security - N4,615,000:00 Publicity - N19,452,050.00 Gift to the family - N10,000,000:00 TOTAL - N50,949,800:00 At this juncture, I will commit you into hands of wisdom in order that you’ll be able to see what I see and see it the way I see it here in these two burials and the deployment of public funds by the government. Justice Kayode Eso’s remains merely passed through and in a jiffy. That the publicity of and on his death could cost our dear state a whooping Nineteen (N19)Million Naira and overall N51 Million Naira suggest nothing next to fraud but fraud in its majesty. Late Prophet Obadare, definitely a more international figure and a crowd puller than Justice Kayode Eso whether in life or death .I stand to be corrected, though. His burial is expected to be more demanding and challenging in the areas of security, publicity and protocol than Justice Esho’s . I agree that the Christian Community may have shouldered certain part of the burial yet, I want to believe that the government got it wrong again and as usual of them by their emphasis on the trivial such as construction of mausoleum and intervention works at the premises which ordinarily should have been left for the major stakeholders in this one to handle. So, whoever packaged and or approved this one did not get it right. The Commissioners explanation on the funds disbursement is too vague. Or could it be one of this “Something for the boys’ arrangement?”Whatever be the case, it is clear in the two burials that somebody “chopped our money”.It is also clear that somebody is playing politics wit Prophet Obadare’s death. The theory of of “my enemy’s enemy” is my friend is in play here. Were Justice Kayode Eso to be alive and given this case to try he would certainly have ruled that those who proposed and approved this amount for his burial be tied to stake and get fired. Prophet Obadare would have been there fo conduct the last prayer on them. Whether it is Oguntola Toogun or Sikiru Ayedun abi oga on top himself, Ayeniromo does not know but what I know as a fact is that Aye yi ni iro mo. !!!!
