OSX Mavericks update: As with MountainLion, Apples on again off again relationship with Java is likely in part responsible for issues with LibreOffice on upgrade to Mavericks. After repeated attempts it appears that an initial install at OS prompt of Apple Java did not take (was apparently not visible to apps through the OS.) Eventually for no apparent reason (as was the case with MountainLion) suddenly, it worked. At this point it is time to OSX and all its products and apps move to Java 1.7 and Apple finish what it started... This halfway stuff is just making it impossible for users. Apple needs to set a hard release when it will point anything in the OS at Oracle Java installations and let all devs know that as of that release, if you rely on 32 bit Apple Java you are DOA
