OTIENO KAJWANG THROUGH KENYAN POLITICS Vijana msilale lalelale, vijana msilale bado mapambano. This was the song most loved and most sang by the deceased Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang, my party comrade, a man whom like myself went to the Pearl of Africa which is Uganda to drink from the fountain of education, a learned friend and a loyalist per excellency of Raila Amolo Odinga. The song became a defacto anthem of ODM party and evoked the spirit of a political war and dedication in the party stalwarts in both easy and difficult moments to succeed. It encouraged both the winners and losers within the party to fight on and keep hope alive. Otieno Kajwang symbolized the true ODM. He was a faithful and helpful friend of the party and he espoused and remained steadfast to the ideals of social democracy and the party in general even when push came to shove. He was a hero of the debates and the crowds, and he electrified the audience throughout several discourses and in his speeches. His demise is a huge blow to our party to the extend that we shall miss his mental and physical presence. He was a tickler and jovial politician whose journey in politics has been both sweet and bitter. Through Kenyan politics Otieno Kajwang has walked gently, he has walked safely and he has reached far. He has fought titanic political battles and the latest being the one in his Homabay backyard over the control of ODM branch office. Throughout his lifetime journey and like any other human being born of a woman, Kajwang has been face to face with death on all the occasion, and at this time we the faithful members of ODM should not be alarmed by his sudden demise. Honorable Otieno Kajwang is alive in death and has ably joined Gor mahia, Lwanda Magere, Koitalel Samoei Barbaran Arap Turgat, Mekatilili wa Menza, Dedan Kimathi, Elijah Masinde Mwasame, Masinde Muliro, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Micheal Wamalwa and the rest of our ancestors in asking our gods to drive the Orange Democratic Movement and Raila Amolo Odinga into the house on the hills of Nairobi come 2017. So let it be.
