OUR CELEBRITY OF THE DAY IS MERCY OZIOMA JOHNSON OKOJIE! This Beautiful Nollywood actress was born in Lagos on August 28, 1984 to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Johnson a former Naval Officer. This Ogbonge’ movie actress hails from Okene, in Kogi state; she is the sixth in the family of seven children. She had her primary education, first in Calabar, where she stayed with her father, and later at the Nigerian Navy Primary School, Lagos. For her secondary education, she attended Rivers State Secondary School and the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, both in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. Mercy reveals she got into the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) because she failed her University entrance examinations. This Nollywood damsel shot into limelight very suddenly. Having spent part of her life working as a housemaid in order to feed herself, she’s now one of the most successful actresses in Nollywood. She has featured in over 100 home movies and still counting. she equally commands a lead role in most of the films she has featured in. She was one of the inaugural winners at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2013 for her role in the comedy film Dumebi the Dirty Girl”, plus lots of other awards to her credit.
