OUR COMMITMENT TO SPORTS DEVELOPMENT: LET US ALL BE PART OF ZAMBIA UNITED AS WE SUPPORT OUR CHIPOLOPOLO BOYS AT AFCON2015 As our Zambia national soccer team goes to Equatorial Guinea to compete at the 30th Orange Africa Cup of Nations, I would like to wish our Chipolopolo boys Gods guidance, blessings and the best of luck as they fly our colours higher. Football is a sport that invokes passion amongst all of us Zambians. I believe that the entire nation rallies with the team and we have no doubt that every Zambian will be behind the boys as they compete to try and win a second Nations Cup for our country. Through the power and popularity of football, the people get together to back our boys as one united Zambia and set aside any divergent opinions and views. Let us do the same as we go to the polls on 20th January by coming together in Zambia United to usher in a new era of hope and development for our country. The UPNDs stand on sports development is clear and unrivalled. We understand that the spectacle of football provides entertainment, fosters friendship, promotes peace and inspires many of our people, especially the younger generation, but is a significant tool for social and economic development. Football has created jobs, significantly contributed to fighting and rolling back the devastation of killer diseases like malaria and Im aware of the greater plans that CAF and FIFA have put in place to continue using football to roll-back malaria, foster peace, and fight discrimination and in the 2015 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea, augment awareness in the fight against Ebola. The UPND government will enhance its support to our Chipolopolo and the Football Association of Zambia and help accelerate the implementation of the new CAF and FIFA licensing development programmes which will contribute to adding more jobs to this industry which has showed its true potential of being a multi-million sector in many countries like England, Spain, France, Italy and South Africa. Further, we will strategically review the national youth and sports policy so as to allow for greater involvement of all young people across the country and ensure sports development across the various disciplines has as much support as football. Once again, let us all wish our boys the best and rally with them throughout the tournament and as we enjoy the Africa Cup of Nations remember to be up early on 20th January to vote HH and Zambia United. Good luck Chipolopolo. Lets go Zambia, lets go! HAKAINDE HICHILEMA
