OUR DAILY BREAD NO. 27 – WHO IS INFLUENCING YOU LIFE? Good Morning to all beautiful Children of God made in the image of God. Every one of you is a lovely beautiful person. I refuse to label any person ugly because I fear offending the Creator who made them in the image of God. Everyone instead is beautiful and unique with no one other person like that in the world. No one is like you the world of over now and forever. No one. When you look at your life every day and how you make your decisions you should be able to be convinced that you are on the right track with God or wrong track. You should be able to yearn for a good life with God. Where you are leading a Godly life and fearful of evil. Today let me teach a principle: Romans 8:5-11 Good News Translation (GNT) 5 Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human nature wants. Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants. 6 To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. 7 And so people become enemies of God when they are controlled by their human nature; for they do not obey Gods law, and in fact they cannot obey it. 8 Those who obey their human nature cannot please God. 9 But you do not live as your human nature tells you to; instead, you live as the Spirit tells you to—if, in fact, Gods Spirit lives in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ lives in you, the Spirit is life for you[a]because you have been put right with God, even though your bodies are going to die because of sin. 11 If the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who raised Christ from death will also give life to your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit in you. In this scripture we learn the following: 1. There is a person who has received Jesus Christ. He is led by the Holy Spirit. He has the spirit of life in all his things. The Holy Spirit controls his life and his mind. Thus he finds it difficult doing evil things. Whatever that person plans and does exudes life. The life of God runs through all he does. 2. There is also a person who has not received Jesus Christ. That person has the spirit of death of the devil. The devil is controlling his or her mind. Whatever they are doing leads to death. That death runs in all they do. Whether its work, plans, school, relationships, marriage etc. All their things are controlled by the devil because they don’t have the spirit of life. 3. Infact that person is an enemy of God. They themselves find themselves doing evil things even if they want to do good they find themselves doing things that are contrary to God. God hates them and they themselves hate God even if they don’t want to they find themselves hating Godly things. Verse 7 says “And so people become enemies of God when they are controlled by their human nature; for they do not obey Gods law, and in fact they cannot obey it. “ It means even if they want to do Godly things they find themselves doing the opposite. I have sat many times with people who have murdered, raped, robbed etc and asked them Why? Why did you do such an evil thing and the answer used to surprise me before I learnt this scripture. Most say “I don’t know what came into me!”. I don’t know how I ended doing such an evil thing. In a way they are right their mind was controlled by the devil and they could not stop doing the evil they did. 4. Thus such a person cannot please God at all. They are an enemy of God. Verse 8 “Those who obey their human nature cannot please God.” Even if you want you can’t please God if you don’t have Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in you. EVEN IF YOU WANT YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF DOING WHAT IS CONTRARY TO THE WORD OF GOD THUS GETTING DEEPER INTO SIN. 5. But if you have the Spirit of God in you will do what God wants and you will avoid sin and God will lead you to please him. 6. Finally doing things for the Devil or things contrary to the word of God will lead you to three things: a) Devil will steal something from you b) Devil will always Kill something in your life c) Devil will always destroy something in you. One, or two or three of these will always happen when you are following the devil. The devil will steal, kill and destroy something from you, joy, life, happiness, material goods etc. Thus today change your life and don’t let the devil lead you to destruction. Don’t let the devil steal from you and don’t let the devil steal from you. Choose the life of God. Receive life of God in you. Receive Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit direct and influence your life. Change the spirit that is influencing your life today. Let all those who want to change their life to be led by the Holy Spirit agree with this and reject the influence of the devil in their lives and then do the will of God. Bishop James 15/10/2014
