HOUSE, ABAKILIKI Your Daughter, Chinyere, wants to go to university I was deeply touched by the resilient story of Miss Chinyere Eze Ifeanyichukwu, an indigene of Umunuka Okposi, in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State published in the Daily Sun ofMondsy, last week September 9. The lady cannot do anything with her two hands because there is no life in them,(a situation which she has said to have found herself when she was about nine months old), has, however, been able to conquer disability by learning to write at a remarkable speed with her legs. With that she was able to pass her exams at primary and secondary school levels. But the problem is the lady, who is at present, working as an Administrative Officer at Federal Government Girls College, Umuahia, Abia State, a job she got through the grace of the Federal Ministry of Education, wants to further her studies at the university. She will like to read Public Administration but there is no money to further her education at the higher level. ‘I had some form of scholarship for part of my secondary and primary education’ she told daily sun, I am still thirsty for knowledge, I still want to further my education and I’m praying for the opportunity, i would like to study Public Administration in the university.’ At this junction, I will like to earnestly appeal to the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Martins Elechi, to take up the challenge and grant this lady scholarship to read to any level she likes in the university. Sir, I am happy that you were once a teacher. Granting scholarship to this girl to fulfil her dreams may end up being one of the enduring legacies of your administration.
