OUR HUMMINGBIRD – BACK YARD FEEDERS A few days ago, while in the dog kennel, doing what I do, and what dog’s doo; I heard the buzz of a Hummingbird. The next day, while working in the kitchen, I heard it again, ran to the sliding glass door and saw the Hummer flying around our bird feeder. The little guy was looking for dinner! I mentioned this to Michael and soon, he made Hummingbird food, filled our feeder. He also, filled the bird feeder, with seeds, placing them side by side. Next morning, as he headed out for work, Michael said, “Have a camera sitting on the kitchen counter, be ready!” I walked back in the house, took my little camera out of the case, and set it on the counter. I turned around and what was looking at me through the window? With little hands on the sliding glass door…a Squirrel! It took the little rascal less than half an hour to notice the bird feeder full of food! Of course, we live, ON A NUT FARM, we have Squirrels and they still have many acres of NUTS! I find cracked ones all over the FARM; the Crows are responsible for the rest! The Squirrel attempted to climb up the pole for birdseed, realizing I was staying at the door he took off. Early evening, standing in front of the sink, I heard the Hummer again! I ran around the counter, around and over Dachshund’s grabbed the camera and realized the Levolor blind was down! I put the camera between the slats and started clicking. I look forward to seeing many more Hummingbirds in the coming months! Blessings from OUR NUT FARM.
