OUR LEADERS! OH! HEAR THOU OUR VOICE! By Makatife Benjamin Nebeolisa It is quite unfortunate that while Nigerians groans in adverse hardship, unable to meet daily basic needs required for human existence, the government of Nigerian through the so called office of first lady decided to embark on wastage of tax-payers money on the so called women celebration in Abuja. This gives credence to our continuous outcry of this administrations’ insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians. In their scale of preference, political jamboree comes first while citizen development comes last. Please those who are sympathetic to our plight and are closer to Mr. President, help us tell him that Nigerians are yet to reap the fruit of his demo-rulership of his governance. That lager than thou life style of his entourage (ministers, appointees, DGs, Directors, associates, friends, families, etc), which do not constitute 1% of Nigeria populace do not mean that 99% of other Nigerians are reaping democratic dividends under his demo-rulership. What can we say of our state governors, who rather eat suya, pour champaign, embark on jamboree trips in the name of seeking for investors than allow local people to test democratic dividends at grass-root. If not, how can we justify their impunitic nature with which they used to resist local government autonomy at the detriment of citizens need (thank God for House of Representatives)? Please whisper it to the ears of masses party that local government autonomy is where Nigerians stand and anything short of that will be counter-productive. IN EVERY MAN EXISTS AN ACT OF MISCHIEF, WHICH IS MORE REVEALED AT THE PURSUIT OF WEALTH AND POWER. PRACTICE OF TRUE DEMOCRACY IS THE ONLY ANTIDOTE TO CAGING THIS MONSTER THAT EXISTS IN ALL MEN. THEREFORE, NIGERIANS SIT NO LONGER ON FENCE WHY THY DESTINY IS BEING DECIDED BY THOSE WHO WISH YOU NO BETTER: JOIN AND BE ACTIVE IN DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE THAT THOU MIGHEST CONTROL POLICIES THAT BETTER THY FUTURE, THY CHILDRENS’ FUTURE, THY CHILDREN CHILDRENS’ FUTURE; BECAUSE ONLY BY THY SEED DOING WELL THAT THOU AND THY COMMUNITY PROSPERS AND LIVE IN HARMONY AND GOOD HEALTH.
