OUR OPEN ART COMPETITION OPEN ART: LAST CALL FOR ENTRIES If you fancy seeing your artworks on display in a contemporary art gallery or perhaps just like the idea of winning a cash prize then you may well be interested in entering Caerphilly’s forthcoming Open Art Competition. With submission dates rapidly looming artists, amateur and professional, are reminded that entries will be accepted at Y Galeri between Tues 4th and Saturday 8th November. There is free creative rein over the work that can be submitted …. any media and any subject matter. Sizes have been increased this year in response to the many requests from artists who work on a larger scale so artworks measuring up to 36” x 36” in any direction (91.4 x 91.4cms) will be accepted. The organisers are keen to promote the event to artists working 3 dimensionally also so that the resulting exhibition is varied and eclectic. Sculptors, ceramicists and artists working in glass, textiles, metal or any other media may be interested to hear this. Following submission 150 or more artworks will be selected to form the Winter Exhibition for display in Y Galeri in the New Year. The winning artist will stand to win a cash prize of £750, with £250 going to the runner up and £50 for the popular Visitors Choice Award. Terms & conditions • Artists aged 18 years are eligible to enter • Artists can enter up to a maximum of 3 artworks • Entry fee: £10 per artwork. (Non refundable) • Work in any media & any subject may be submitted in either 2 or 3 dimensional format • Artworks must be original • All artwork must be for sale • Artworks must not exceed 36” x 36” in any direction. These dimensions include frames. How to enter: • Images of artworks are required for submission either on a disk or as a photograph.
