OUR TAKE IN THE STAMPEDE AND IN TOTAL REJECTION OF THE PRESENCE OF RADICAL BROTHER IN TEDDER HALL The attention of the conscious layers of studentry and especially that of the DSM comrades has been called to the recent post on the union Facebook page on how Hon. Segun Olaleye was rejected from campaigning and distributing APC flyers within Tedder hall on the night of Thursday 15th of January, 2015. It is important to clear the air that DSM comrades did not only mobilise their friends and floor- mates at B Block in Tedder hall against the presence of Hon. Segun Olaleye (Radical Brother) but importantly use that medium to popularize our age long campaign slogan to chase all political thieving elites out of power geared towards a total overthrow of the capitalist system and in an immediate formation a working class government. However, with the event of last Thursday night, we want to sincerely appreciate bravery and salute the courage of Tedderites who openly stampede or truncate Radical Brother and his cohorts in distributing APC flyers in Tedder hall. This is not to express our joy over being anti-APC but emphatically against all existing pro- establishment political parties that has looted the entirety of both human and material resources of this country. Practically, what we meant by this is that neither APC, PDP and ACCORD nor the currently collapsed LABOUR PARTY can guarantee the advancement of humanity. In the same spirit, we are employing the generality of students across all the halls to follow the striking example laid by B Blockites in Tedder hall. None of these rogues who are masquerading themselves as politicians can practically re-write the destiny of this nation. They are all same fishes in the same pool. We should not create any illusion in the 2015 election as Nigeria’s destiny can never be re- configure through an electoral process..! As whosoever is eventually rigged in, either Buhari or Jonathan, will definitely implement an austerity measure which is to impose more hardship on the common people and we students. Therefore, instead of we students wasting our time and precious effort in debating who wins the election or in throwing our support behind all these rogues we should immediate start to build a conscious movement in preparing for the post 2015 election crises. Our Reasons why Radical Brother was stampede/ truncated from distributing APC flyers in Tedder hall: Ever since the assumption of Radical Brother as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, it was very crystal clear that he is no way different from other rogues who are tenants at the OYHA. Radical Brother himself is the house Chairman on Appropriation committee- a committee that ratifies the budget proposals of the state government. Definitely, no expenditure in the state public resources is carried out without the ratification of his committee. This is to say under his administration and the APC- led government in the state, the lives of thousands of Oyo state citizenry who voted them in during 2011 general elections is not any way better. Workers salary, arrears and minimum wage was not paid, all social services in the state continue to degenerate- the health and education sector is not in any way faring better. Currently, all state owned public institutions, including schools, are nothing different from prisons and house without walls. Oyo state primary and secondary schools are in a serious mess crying for infrastructural facilities. Tertiary institutions too are living in the shadow of themselves. No capital projects were carried out in the last 4 years of their tenure to improve Polytechnic education in the state. Teachers and workers groan under battered working conditions and without salaries, Polytechnic of Ibadan campuses are nothing different from animal farms and crop- land. Instead Oyo state public resources was diverted into private pockets and to enrich themselves and their allies such as lots of millions of naira that was taken to NANS convention in 2012 and in 2014 to fuel Labzy political career.
