OUR VALUES LIBERALS Freedom must be regarded as a fundamental value in a free society. The UDJS focuses on inalienable freedoms of expression and conscience of individuals, in accordance with the laws of the Republic. Freedom of private initiative and entrepreneurship should not be hampered by an interventionist state; it should limit its jurisdiction only to control and sanction abuses as well as the regulation of the economy to preserve the economic attractiveness of our country and to ensure sustainable social peace. HUMANISTS The UDJS wants humanist values. We give a prominent place to instruction, allowing everyone to be free, to contribute full responsibility for the progress of companies. The development of the essential qualities of the human being must promote national harmony, social cohesion, and respect for differences in the pursuit of the common good. PROGRESSIVES Being progressive is to listen to the Community, to understand their needs. We are in constant search of social progress. We hope the emergence of new ideas of capitalism, the emergence of a real social policy of solidarity and responsibility, will advance the DRC beyond the policies of the past. WORK The work ethic is essential. It enables the empowerment and social inclusion of all individuals. The concept of work is inseparable from freedom of enterprise. This freedom must be exercised in a less stringent and less costly framework for the employer. We want real social corporate governance. Social agreements should be signed at the choice of the employees in their businesses, in each case, and not in the Ministries. REFORMERS Reform is anticipated. It is possible to preserve a model of society and ensure that future generations live even better than their elders. Pensions, institutions, departments and regions, justice, flexible employment, status of elected officials, education, taxation, research, and unionism: all are areas in which it is necessary to make a new life, a new ambition, while preserving social cohesion in a constant search for the common good. SOLIDARITY Solidarity must be at the heart of human relationships. Solidarity is helping the lowest to recover, find hope in a society where individualism is a growing obstacle to listening, support, and respect for differences. Solidarity must be a moral and civic duty: it must not be confused with excessive assistance. This duty of solidarity must meet the requirement that citizens will take control of their destiny and fight to regain dignity often lost. SECULARISM Secularism is a republican principle, the founder of our community. Freedom of conscience of each individual is essential for us.
