OUT AND ABOUT: @ The NAMM Show 2014 in Anaheim, California. Although NAMM officially starts Thursday morning, we attended a special Absolute Dealer Welcome Reception and Happy Hour tonight by Official Yamaha Drums where they gave us a special preview of their new series of high-end drums - The Absolute Hybrid Maple. These drums represent the culmination of three years of research and development. Yamaha also unveiled a newly revamped Stage Custom Birch kit as well. Both kits sounded fantastic! Yamaha then invited four of their artists to perform as part of the event - guitarist Lee Ritenour, bassist Abraham Laboriel, and drummers Tommy Igoe and Oscar Seaton. As expected, the group was absolutely incredible! Great presentation, wonderful performance, and an open bar with delicious hors doeuvres. Awesome way to kick off NAMM!
