OUT OF AFRICA?? PARTING THE RED (REED) SEA?? IN 50,000 BC, IF THE SEA LEVEL WAS 300 FEET LOWER THAN IT IS TODAY, the RED SEA, where it joins the ARABIAN SEA at its southern end, would have only been 13Km (8 miles) wide (short red line), the same distance as from San Francisco to Oakland, California. even swimmable....on a warm day...it is now 21Km (13 miles) from the northern shore of Djibouti (Africa) to the Yemeni (Arabian Peninsula) shore (long red line). what is now a 100 ft. tall island just south of the Yemeni shore would have been a 400 ft. hill at the end of the peninsula.
