OUT OF ORDER? GOD DEFIES LOGIC! 2 KINGS 6:1-7,.....Verse 5, As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell into the water. Oh my Lord!, he cried out, it was borrowed! The man of God asked, Where did it fall? When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there and made the iron float. This man probably imagined what the owner of the axe would say and thought he would be mad with him. The axe was borrowed, thats why he exclaimed, Oh my Lord!. He was desperate at the thought of what he would be told by the owner. Thank God the Master was with Him. The man who had the power of God in him. Sometimes we face challenges and even doubt the power of God. We act like Sarah when she was told that she would bear a son at a very advanced age. She laughed to herself perhaps because she that thought the idea was illogical and crazy. But God doesnt think like human beings. When at our weakest point like this man, who was chopping down a tree, we lose hope too fast. We feel dismayed within a very short time. But God is not limited by what scientists call logic. He does not do what we are used to seeing or hearing about. He does something extraordinary. The iron floated. That was defiance to the laws of nature. Iron doesnt float under normal circumstances. My teacher of Physics told me than for density, shape weight etc come into play so that iron does not float. Well! I guess some theorists can come up with theories to explain what Elisha did! But that was the power of God at work. My dear brother/sister, what is it that sounds impossible to achieve? What goal looks like a pipe dream to you? What disease doctors say can not be cured? What marital troubles are you having that God cant chip in and turn things around?....When faced with such challenges, call out to the name of the Lord. The man didnt keep quiet. He called Elisha, a man of God. This man had some divine anointing! We no longer have to believe in prophets....We no longer have to call unto our neighbors when all hell breaks loose. Christ provided a way. He said that whatever we shall pray in His name, we shall receive it. Get over self pity and start believing in the infallible power of God. Stop blowing the situation out of proportion. Nothing is impossible with God. God is not limited by the past. He is not hampered by the laws of nature. He is not limited by the common proverbs and wise sayings. He defies logic! Trust in Him and youll be surprised.
