OUTBOUND LOGISTICS MANAGER- (Zimbabwe Harare) Purpose Statement: To cost effectively manage, plan, control, set goals and monitor the outbound logistic process which involves store order management, picking, loading and transportation of goods to meet the Distribution Centre’s customer service requirements. Qualifications: • Business Management Degree (Mandatory) • Transport Management Diploma (Mandatory) • Supply Chain Management Diploma / Logistics Diploma - an added advantage • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role and experience in an FMCG environment would be an added advantage; • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Distribution / Transport environment. Summary of Duties: • To effectively and efficiently manage the Assembly, Dispatch, Delivery and Cost centres ; • To monitor the smooth flow of order placement, assembly, dispatch and delivery to retailers; • To manage the efficient fleet utilization by monitoring trip profitability and viability • To formulate plans to ensure that the Department achieves set targets by advising on structures and resources needed to achieve strategic plans; • To monitor and manage stock costs of short deliveries, damages, wrong pickings to agreed standards; • To facilitate the smooth and efficient cross docking of goods from the satellite warehouse(s) by liaising with the inbound manager; • To liaise and meet with retailers at predetermined frequencies to discuss deliveries, lead times, turnaround times of trucks and any other problems that may arise; • To motivate replacement and expansion Capex providing full justification • To investigate monthly departmental expenditure deviation from target by discussing areas of concern with controllers to ensure remedial action is taken • To manage the department’s productivity by: • ascertaining continually current benchmarks in relation to world class performance • revising targets in consultation with staff and in relation to benchmarks • reviewing weekly productivity reports and advising on course of action • communicating performance against set targets to subordinates • using statistics to motivate, reward and develop subordinates If you are qualified and interested please send your CVs to joseline@eprecruitafrica and you can visit our website for more vacancies on eprecruitafrica
