OUTCOME OF WARD 13, MOSSEL BAY BY-ELECTIONS: DA 49%, ICOSA 34%, ANC 17%, The ward was previously held by the DA and was retained by the DA on Wednesday. In 2011 the DA won the ward with 67% of the vote, the results of the by-election shows a decline in the support of the DA in this ward. A low voter turn-out below 50% of registered voters can be attributed to the current service delivery protests in Mossel Bay. The ANC wishes to thank our voters who came out to cast their vote in difficult circumstances. The ANC furthermore wishes to thank all our volunteers and supporters for their support throughout ther campaign. We should like to re-affirm to all the people of Ward 13 our commitment to safeguard their interests and act as watchdog where the current government fails them. A special thank you goes to our ANC Candidate Faizel Porter, who has shown great poltical tolerance and maturity throughout this campaign which have seen dirty tactics from opposition parties.
