OUTRAGEOUS LIGHT BILLS IN NEW BERN - New Bern what is going on with all these charges that the City of New Bern Utilities are putting ON YOU, if you are 1 day late with your light bill? There is a 5% surge charge taken from one of your highest light bill AND a 10% surge charge taken from your original deposit. Then there a 2% late charge for being 1 day late.. Now this is all added to your total bill that must be paid if you are a day late. I heard there was a fight that broke out in the building on Monday, police was everywhere. They said there is over 400 people without light, because of unpaid bills. This is ridiculous and foolish to charge that much money to the people living in the city of New Bern There is a Petition going around... The people are coming together and fighting the city. Please contact Tina Lewis Adkins Vickie Foster Stevens to sign this petition and protest against all these demanding fees.. If you allow the city to continue treating you in this matter, it will get worse..and I hate to say what could happen with the city perfect crime rate.
