OVERSIZE SHIPMENT ON HIGHWAY 86 DELAYED UNTIL DEC. 1: Motorists - TopicsExpress

OVERSIZE SHIPMENT ON HIGHWAY 86 DELAYED UNTIL DEC. 1: Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes starting around 7 p.m. December 1 to accommodate the movement of an oversized transport carrying transformer equipment between Baker City and the Idaho border. The load is expected to take about half a day as it travels around 10 miles per hour through Baker County, primarily on OR Highway 86. Depending on the progress of the transport the move could take place over one, two or three days, parking off the highway during the daylight hours to limit the impact to travelers. Motorists are advised to plan for extra travel time during the move of this equipment. Traffic impact information will be posted on TripCheck. “This transport was originally scheduled to take place on November 20 and 21, but has been rescheduled,” said ODOT Operations Coordinator Tom Davis.
