OYO 2015: WHY THE CROWN FITS AJIMOBI BY OSUNRINDE TEMIDAYO JOHN Though I have always been a secret admirer and lover of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.....Lol (14years tins)I haven’t meet him in person o but recently, it dawned on me for the first time that the admirer and supporters of Governor Abiola Ajimobi second term bid in 2015 cut across indigenes and non indigenes of the state. As a matter of fact, I was joyful as a resident, when two aged passengers who sat beside me in a Ajumose bus, devoted a greater part of their time talking about the landmark achievements of the Governor since he assumed the mantle of Leadership of Oyo State. While Pretending as if I wasn’t listening to their conversation as usual on the level of development in Oyo state, most especially Ibadan I was overwhelmed at some point as tears nearly rolled down my check when the oldest of the two said a journey on many major road in and out of the states was in the recent past an unpleasant trip until the emergence of Governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi. He recalled with gratitude to the Governor ,how his younger brother who recently visited ring road where I happen to stay couldn’t suppress his encomiums for Ajimobi for transforming and cleaning the city of Ibadan. Abi you think say Soprite(as my Ibadan people will pronounce it lol), Mr Price, Cinemas, and Cash and Carry, coming to Ib na film trick?? It’s because of the ground breaking feats of this administration in Urban Renewal C’est clear?? Another shoprite poised to be the biggest in West Africa will be opening soon at Ring Road Ibadan. Ever since the arrival of the heaven sent Governor, Ajimobi has turned Ibadan to an investment haven, restoring the lost glory and resetting the ace for the unbeatable pace... well not surprised though Ajimobi has an MBA. Not forgetting Beat fm, Star fm, Space fm are not here to sell groundnut o, they were all attracted by the development facilitated by our Administrator par excellence, Ray power and AIT are on the way ooo I wonder where they have been during the years of locust and cankerworms (PDP GOVERNMENT)...a rise l’arika arika baba iregun. Foreign investors have been trooping in and there has been a drastic increase in the IGR of the State When we got to challenge fly over, linking Lagos/Ibadan express way to challenge and new garage, the ongoing Dualization on the road that leads to challenge, all the passengers in the bus except me pointed and referenced the ornamental beautification of a place that used to be the head office of killers and smokers. I had there and then become convinced that the clamour for Ajimobi’s return transcends the confines of the indigenes of the state who no doubt have tremendously been partaking in the democratic dividends of the Ajumose administration. At Academy, we saw the no nonsense men of the operation burst dealing with thugs fomenting trouble in real time and I remembered how insecured Oyo state used to be under the past administrations......but now, where is are the touts and thugs niwaju awon operation burst ??? Lol they had to go on compulsory exile. Pictures they say do not lie as nobody ever imagined that major streets of Ibadan the capital of oyo will become illuminated at night for both motorists and pedestrians. What about Ajumose poverty alleviation programmes? 95 percent The Ajumose buses nko? They don’t charge students in school uniforms and kids and this as lessened the transportation challenges and it financial implications in the city don’t we see them all over the city every day? In our schools, Ajumose government provided exercise books as well as text books for all subjects both minor and major subjects with a conducive learning atmosphere provided by the State Government. Despite the minute allocation and against all odds, Ajimobi has been able to achieve what Ladoja and Akala couldn’t achieve in 8years no wonder why our fore fathers use to say Ajumobi o kan t’anu. The most intriguing part of the epistle is that it’s an all encompassing development as cities towns and helmet in the states are not left out of the transformation and beautification Oke Ogun, Ibarapa, Ogbomoso, Oyo, Iseyin amongst others too numerous to mention in this piece In health sector nko, take a stroll to the state hospitals, they say seeing is believing, Sport nko? He has done well without mincing words However no one can stifle the commentaries of some enemies of progress cum politicians and a few disgruntled element of the state who would never acknowledge the wonderful transformation per second billing going on in Oyo state, they aren’t peace lovers that’s why the Yorubas calls them arije nidi modaru, well am pleased to announce to you that egan o pe koyin ma dun I will advise all other candidates not to waste their money energy and resources because the continuity of the messiah of Oyo state beyond 2015 is not negotiable
