Oak Point -- My grandparents Walter & Margaret (Dake) Plantz lived in this camp after they got married in 1914. The main part of the camp was an old boathouse. For the first few months of my Grandoarents marriage they lived on it while it was still in the water. They moved the boathouse up out of the water & set it up near the Preston house (the big stone house on the left as you come to Dake Circle). My grandfather built some additions on to the boathous as their family started to grow. They lived there until around 1923 when they moved their still growing family up to a farm on River Rd near the Hollister farm where Bobby Hollister & family live today. That farm property included the area where my Uncle Bill Plantz has his camps on Riverledge Rd. today. The farm, (like all the old farms on River Rd.) was sliced in half when Rt. 12 & Riverledge Rd were built in the late 1960s. This structure was tore down by our cousin Sid Dake around 1987 when they built the house that sits there today.
