Oaklie ... 03/15/2014 ,,, 1000pm What a week we have had!!! ... Oaklie has done pretty good with her treatment ... She didnt feel her best on Wednesday and she also had some joint pain with this particular chemo ... However, I talked with her yesterday and I saw her today and she has felt really good and is in very good spirits. I think we are all over the virus bug and that is a very good thing ... It was not a good bug at all!!! Also this week on Wednesday Pattis mom had back surgery ... She had a couple of days where her temperature would go up and down but we feel like that is under control now ... The big thing now is pain management ... We hope that goes well over the next few days and we get to bring her home. I want to put a big shout out to my sister Diana Mitchell and a long-time friend Dot Thrailkill for spearheading a big-time CUT-A-THON today for Oaklie ... Also I want to say thanks to all the girls at Hair & Company and Phase 2 for giving up their time between 100 and 300pm today to cut hair and then all that money go to Oaklie and her family for medical expenses. It was a LARGE turnout and a HUGE success ... And then I want to say thanks to all the people that bought a raffle ticket for the West Point Lake 2 Hour Cruise or the 45 gallon Yeti Cooler ... Im not sure what retail is on the boat cruise but I do know the Yeti Cooler was about a $450 cooler!!! I cant tell you all how it feels when people do things to help you or your family ... Some of you know about that and then some of you dont ... but there is a good chance you will at some point in your lifetime ... And I want you all to know that it is an amazing feeling .... And I cant tell you how THANKFUL we are. Oaklies counts have been down the last couple of weeks and that means that her body would not be able to fight off an infection if she came in contact with a bug so she has been homebound the last few weeks ... We will find out on Monday if her counts are back up enough so that she may have her chemo treatment on Tuesday ... We wont know until we get that blood work on Monday ... I will let you all know. I just want to say thanks again if you had anything to do with the CUT-A-THON from organizing to getting a hair cut to buying a raffle ticket!!! Please pray that Oaklies counts are back up or up enough to get her treatment on Tuesday and that her little body keeps fighting ...Also say a prayer for Pattis mom to feel much better in the days to come. In psalm 63:3 David sings to God while in the desert, because your love is better than life I will glorify you ... I am telling you all that through this community and through our friends and family, we have seen Gods love so much in the last couple of months ... I thank you all!!! God Bless!!!
