Oatameni is a 10 acre property with Great house on prime real estate... It is not only odd that the NHT has acquired it - which is against its core mandate - they paid a paltry JMD$180M for it!private residence sell for more.. Of course it doesnt end there, the govt will be using NHT money JMD$111M of it to renovate and revamp this property. A few questions: 1) Who will ensure the NHT stick to its core mandate of providing homes for Jcan citizens? 2) Why is a commercial property such as Outameni being undervalued and sold for way below its market value? Sweetheart deal? 3) Is Outameni in debt, and the govt is using NHT money to bail out and pass that debt onto the tax payers? 4) IMF preaches divesting assets to reduce debt, isnt acquiring this property counter that?
