Oats & Semolina Instant Idlies made by me... Its very quick and easy to make...n in addition to that its very healthy n tasty... Oats contains beta-glucan ...which helps to lower cholesterol level in blood...n its also high fibre which aids in slow release of sugar in blood n provides energy for a longer time...so its very good for diabetics... It contains carrot which provides Vitamin A n its necessary for your healthy eye sight.. Veggies provide multi-vitamin n also very good source of fibre... Thus,its high fibre content aids in curing constipation n keep your stomach n heart healthy... I would say this dish is ideal for your breakfast n light dinner... Ingredients... 1 cup Oats flour... 1/2 cup semolina (idly rava) 2 tbl spoon creamy curd Pinch of asafoetida Salt to taste 2 green chillies 1 medium size carrot Hand full of peas.. 8-10 curry leaves 1 tea spoon urad dal(splitted black lentil) 1/2 tea spoon mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds Oil 1 tbl spoon 1/8th tea spoon Eno fruit salt 1/8th tea spoon Baking Soda Water as required... Freshly greated coconut OR coconut milk powder 1 tbl spoon .. Mix Oats flour n semolina in a Dee bowl... Add in salt.. Chopped peas Greated carrot n coconut Or coconut milk powder.. Now prepare tempering..by adding udad dal..mustard seeds...cumin seeds...asafoetida...curry leaves...chopped green chillies..in oil respectively... Add in this tempering to flour mixture... Add in curd to the flour mixture...add in water n make batter...let it rest for 10 min... Now.. Grease idli moulds with oil...put water in vessel to boil.. Add eno n baking soda in batter...mix ut well n fill in idli moulds...steam it for 10 min... Let it cool down n unmould idlies...then...serve with tomato ketch-up,sambhar,chilled curd,chutney etc...
