The selfie broke the retweet record that had been set by Obama. I dont know if you know this, but I was aiming to break your record of retweets and I apologize for doing it, DeGeneres told Obama who appeared via satellite from The White House. Obama replied: I heard about that. I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself. Getting a bunch of celebrities in the background ... you feeding them pizza. The president has seen some of the shows on television that depict life in the nations capitol and told DeGeneres: I watch House of Cards. I havent seen Scandal yet, but (First Lady) Michelle (Obama) has watched Scandal. I have to tell ya, life in Washington is a little more boring than displayed on the screen. The truth of the matter is, if you followed me, most of my day is sitting in a room listening to a bunch of folks in gray suits talking about a whole bunch of stuff that wouldnt make very good television. It was Obamas first appearance on the show since he was elected to office in 2008. He had appeared when he was still a presidential candidate. It is his second humorous interview in two weeks as Obama in an effort to encourage people without health insurance to sign up for coverage. Last week, Obama appeared on the Funny Or Die digital video series Between Two Ferns where he was interviewed by host Zach Galifianakis.
