Obama not listed in this article as to where he placed, it was perhaps 3rd or maybe 4th. Just the fact that he is president of the united states should have kept him in the top five. According to a recent survey conducted by Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, Chinese leader Xi Jinping is the world’s most popular leader. The survey included over 26,000 participants from 30 countries to evaluate the performance of 10 of the most widely recognized world leaders: Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, US president Barack Obama, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Great Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Jacob Zuma, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The survey questioned people from 30 countries in total, 12 nations in Asia (China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Israel and Saudi Arabia), 4 from Africa (Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa), 4 from the Americas (United States, Canada, Brazil and Chile), 8 from Europe (Russia, Ukraine, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy and Finland) and 2 from Oceania (Australia and New Zealand) reports China Daily. Xi topped both the domestic ratings and international scoring. In terms of domestic ratings The Chinese president scored 9 out of 10, which shows that Chinese citizens have the highest confidence in their own leader, the second place in terms of domestic confidence holds macho Vladimir Putin with score 8.7. Xi also has the highest average score, at 7.5, based on international scoring. The survey indicates that Xi Jinping is not only wildly popular in his own country, but also the most influential and the most popular leader globally.
