Obamacare has added 7.5M to the Medicaid welfare rolls with a temporary fee increase to entice doctors to participate. On January 1, 2015, the rate bump expires, averaging a 40% decline in payment to doctors, in what one physicians describes as a bait and switch scam. Is health care coverage the same as medical care or provision of medical services? What will be the consequences of arbitrary reimbursements, instability and unpredictability in payments to physicians and their practices, adding millions of enrollees to a system that in order to function must financially entice doctors who otherwise would not participate in a cumbersome and economically impractical program? Is it fair to the doctors and their employees? More importantly, is it fair to the patients who have been given the illusion of good medical coverage without the funding to pay for it?
