Obama’s “fix” of what he now admits was an “inaccurate” - TopicsExpress

Obama’s “fix” of what he now admits was an “inaccurate” promise that you could keep your plan and your doctor compounds the mess. He cannot repeal or modify the law because the votes for the existing Obamacare law only were there for one brief, signing moment counting the dead Teddy Kennedy and using “budget reconciliation” rules to avoid a filibuster the Democrats did not have the votes to stop. . So he says he will refrain from enforcing it. He says he has legal authority to do that, but the case he cites was very different. Furthermore, if he actually does have such dictatorial powers, then can change his mind and decide to enforce it, too. . Insurance company legal counsel should tell their companies that they should comply with the written law. “It’s the law of the land.” And those counsel should say what I just said. Obama probably does not have authority to NOT enforce the law and if he does, it means he also can charge his dictatorial mind and enforce it. . At best from Obama’s perspective, this promise to ignore part of the law does not let you keep your plan or doctor, it only lets you keep them for ONE YEAR. No one will be satisfied with that. Plus it deprives Obamacare of money it needs to pay for Obamacare. . The basic problem is socialism doesn’t work and Obamacare isn’t even good socialism. It is a rough draft that was supposed to be turned into a final draft in conference committee. But Republican Scott Brown won Teddy Kennedy’s Senate seat ending the Democrat’s filibuster-proof majority in the that body and forcing them to enact the senate’s rough draft into law. The U.S. Supreme Court should have overturned it on the simple grounds that it was a contradictory, substandard, quasi-law. . I have often defined a politician as one who takes credit for everything good that happens and blames his opponents for everything bad that happens, regardless of actual responsibility. This “fix” is just a spin trick to allow Obama to blame insurance companies for the “inability to keep your plan” problem which will continue in spite of the “fix.”
