Obama’s snub 2 hours ago It is unarguable that one of the excuses why the United States’ President, Barack Obama, could not visit Nigeria during his three-nation trip to Africa is the insecurity prevailing in our country. I have always wondered why developed countries are so obsessed about their importance over other countries, especially developing nations, which they refer to as the Third World. Shouldn’t we remind them that bilateral relationship is based on mutual respect, understanding and reciprocity? Let us be frank with ourselves, is the US safer than Nigeria? Of course, not. So, what is this hullabaloo about security? Obama as the US President is welcome to Nigeria anytime he wants to visit the country. In the meantime however, let us focus our attention on making our country a safer and better place for all its citizens.
