Obi deceives Onitsha Bishops with cheques Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Onitsha, Valerie Okeke and the Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Owen Nwokolo were today embarrassed to their bone marrow as an invitation to receive outstanding checks for longstanding pledges by the government turned out to be a presentation of one of the factional candidates in APGA Mr Willie Obiano of Fidelity Bank. Obiano acting in cahoots with the governor sneaked into the lounge where the holy fathers were waiting for Obi to attend to them and the governors entered two minutes after with photographers and Government House reporters to the utter embarrassment of the Bishops , who mild protest were overtaken by the click of the cameras. A senior aide to the governor was over heard asking the photojournalist to send it a particular correspondent in Lagos-based newspapers for publication tomorrow under the caption. Onitsha bishops endorse Obiano. But the Bishops left the government House hurriedly after. The event is coming a day after the Obi of Onitsha resigned as the Chairman of Anambra State Council of traditional Rulers, following disagreements with Gov. Obi on the imposition of Obiano as APGA factional candidate. Igwe Alfred Achebe was a keen supporter of zoning of Anambra State governorship position to the Anambra North ,but was believed to be routing for a candidate from Ogbaru, only to be disappointed when Obi not only weeded out al the candidates with support base ,but chose his business partner. ,
