Objectively speaking, both teams had very little to play for. Yes, if a team wins or loses, theres draft pick that moves up or down in the teams future, but I honestly dont think the players consider or play for that. Thats more of a coaching and management matter. But if you look at todays game, the Jets were playing for Rex Ryan. Everyone knows hes finished. And the Jet players wanted to send him off on a positive note. It was more of a moral victory to be had on their sideline. The Dolphins had zero to play for. Philbin, despite what we think or feel, isnt technically on the hot seat. The Dolphins played to, ironically, Just End The Season.
