Greeting goodmorning class! goodmorning ma,am! 2. Prayer 3. Review: Conversation: Teacher: who will still remember our past lesson? Student: our lesson is about hairstyle Teacher: what have you learned about hairstyle? Student: hairstyling is creating a pleasing coiffure suitable to the person Teacher: what other factors we have to consider to have a suitable hairstyles Student: we must considered the patrons head Teacher: very good class ! B. Presentation of the lesson Motivation Teacher: okay, how does your mother take care of her hands particularly on finger nails? Student: my mother used to go to a parlor shop to clean her nails once a week Teacher: how about the others, do you take good care of your fingernails how? Student: by cutting it short and washing with soap ma’am Teacher: very good! Lesson: I have here a chart with picture, look closely to the pictures in column A and column B, how they differ? (B) Teacher: what have you observe in this picture? Student: on column A the fingers are dirty and it looks dry, while the column B the fingers are beautiful and clean. Teacher: very good! Teacher: based on the pictures and our activity a while ago. Our topic for this afternoon is all about manicuring. 2.Unlocking of word difficulties: Manicuring- Is the way of caring our fingernails, it is not only cutting it short, but for the beauty culturist they need different tools and supplies to make it beautiful Other term for beauty culturist is cosmetologist (The teacher will show different tools and products used in manicuring) 3.Lesson proper: Materials in manicure: 1. NIPPER- This instrument allows us to cut the dead skin found around the nail. 2. COTTON- It is used to remove nail polish or excess cuticle. 3. EMERY BOARD- It is used to make natural nails short in a gentle way. 4. PUSHER- It is used to push up and remove excess cuticle. 5. CUTICLE REMOVER- It softens and makes excess cuticle easy to remove. 6. DUST BRUSH- It is used to remove dust quickly and effectively. 7. NAIL POLISH REMOVER- It is used with a piece of cotton to remove nail polish. 8. NAIL CUTTER- used to clean the dirt out of nails and to trim fingernails. Procedure in manicure: STEP 1. REMOVE YOUR OLD NAIL POLISH ... First things first! Take your time removing old nail polish. place the cotton round dipped in nail polish remover on the nail and wait for 5 seconds before removing - it will come off faster and easier! STEP 2. SHAPE THE NAIL ... Hold the fingernail file in the right hand. Slant the fingernail file so that the filing is done mostly to the under side of the nail. File each fingernail from the corner to the center, going from right to left and then from left to right. On each side of the fingernail, stroke in one direction only. Repeat the process on the right hand. STEP 3. SOFTEN THE CUTICLES ... Softening the cuticles is accomplished by soaking the fingers in a small finger bowl filled with soapy water. STEP 4. REMOVE THE CUTICLES ... Apply cuticle remover by following the directions on the cuticle remover tube or bottle. Gently loosen the cuticle with cuticle pusher. STEP 5. CLEAN UNDER THE EDGE OF THE NAIL ... Clean under the free edge of the fingernail by dipping a cotton-tipped orangewood stick in soapy water and cleaning under the nail from the center outward to each side. STEP 6. REMOVE EXTRA-PIECES ... Sometimes it is necessary to remove dead cuticle or hangnails with small scissors or cuticle nippers. Be very careful when you do this. STEP 7. MOISTURIZE CUTICLE AREA ... Apply cuticle oil or cream at the base of the nail. Brush nails gently in a soapy water with a downward motion. Wipe nails to remove any particles of cuticle or dead skin. 4.Application: I want you to look for your pair, since you already have tools and supplies I want you to follow the ways or procedures you have viewed a while ago. Choose who will do the manicuring while other serve as the patron, who will dictate the procedures for her partner to follow. Teacher: am I understood? Student: yes, ma’am! C.
