Observation. And I mean visual observation. Not quite sure how old I was - it was 6th grade. Whats that? 11? most likely. Condemned to a life of wearing eye glasses. In the mid 1950s those were glass construction, not light weight plastic. Like the bottoms of coke bottles for lenses. And heavy plastic frames. Here we are as of Tuesday, no longer mandated to wear glasses. 2nd cataract lens replacement surgery accomplished - first 4.5 years ago. With bionic lenses visions such that I can do most everything, driving included, without eye glasses. Reading remains the only cause for specs, and even thats limited - and includes my iPhone (good excuse for ignoring it - cant read a thing while driving.) Whats strange is I keep reaching for glasses when I get up to leave. 59 years, thats why.
