Observations - The Eric Garner Decision: *Telling LRADs* To any kind of simple observing eye everybody and everything has a tell. We all have them in some way, shape or subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) forms. That is an indisputable fact. Theres no getting around it. The not-so-subtle (to me) tell that sealed the deal about the decision was when a news outlet let slip the term LRAD. LRAD means Long Range Acoustic Device. Basically sonic cannons. Non-lethal when properly used. Properly being the key operator. It was slipped in a report that NYPD was mobilizing their LRADs and the concerns of use in densely pact areas. This was last night. The decision was announced today. Those who plan on protesting, get your ear protection. Heres an example of an LRAD deployment in 2009.
