Observations: So the home team has to submit the game balls over two hours prior to the game...for inspection. Where do the balls go from there? Cold weather cause deflation of inflated items (basic science 101) just as hot weather causes inflation (expansion of air, basic science 101). Why arent the balls checked throughout the game? If one of the competing teams, specifically the home team, maintains custody of the balls during the game is this implying that they inflate and deflate based on when their team (in this case the Patriots) have possession on the field? How would they know when the officiating crew is going to request a ball and other variables? Ive heard of this claim many times over the years and one would think the NFL & NCAA would have addressed this by having officiating crews/league officials maintain custody of the balls and adjust the PSI as needed. Now, if the alleged balls were used by both teams, how is that an advantage for the Patriots only? This will be interesting to follow. Corporate boys and their toys...
