Observations from a distracted dinosaur: On Tuesday 13 August 2013, I was sitting on the summit of Blencathra with a dear friend. To the west, we could see the Irish Sea; to the north the Solway Firth and to the south the mountains of the lake district were spread out before us. An eagle soared overhead. On Wednesday 14 August 2013, I was sitting in my diabetic clinic with nursey Sally. All around were no windows, just 4 walls filled with large posters screaming at me to stop smoking and drinking. From the sublime to the ridiculous, I think. Can you hear me howling?
