Observations from recent events in Northern Syria 1- Veracity : the posture of coalition forces / airstrikes inside Syria and Iraq has made : the moment of truth for the US policy to be clear - no ambiguity . There is no intention by Obama administration to actively pursue military action causing downfall of Assad regime... Unless Israel permits it .. 2- Ugly face of bystanders : as Kobani is about to fall , similar to Homs previously as well as Qusair , rural Damascus cities rural Aleppo .. The calls for outside help to save Civilians went unheeded . Kobani is no different and it will fall in the hands of ISIS . The US claims that Airstrikes hit command and control of ISIS ... They will not liberate cities . 3- Complex regional interests : Turkey will not come to the rescue of a Kurdish Militia that supported The Assad regime . Turkey will not allow the Kurdish Militia ( Syrian Branch of Turkish PKK) obtain heavy Weaponry/ get military supplies ... They had the blood of many Turkish citizens on their hands... They can retreat into Turkey or die defending Kobani 4- Humanitarian missions and Pragmatism : Turkey is now pushing a much needed ,solution, of course for Turkeys best national interest . Time has come to allow a safe haven corridor for Civilians to flee the bloodshed . An area inside Syria along the northern border with Turkey No fly zone to be enforced over that area. Turkey is asking the international community to declare such objective . A place inside Syria where millions of refugees can go back to .. Answer : the US and Europe are considering options ? The biggest looser in these political consternations are the helpless civilians .
