Observations from the road(as close to geographically in order as I can): 1. 5 am is early to leave for a road trip. 2. Chicago is waaaay easier to navigate on a Saturday morning. 3. I want to puke when I see the name Addison in regards to a Chicago street. 4. Illinois sucks. 5. The Chicago Skyway costs FOUR BUCKS to cross a shitty bridge. 6. Gary, IN looks like used toilet paper. 7. Indiana is not much better, north to south, to drive through than Illinois. 8. Louisville is a beautiful city. 9. Once you get past Lexington, KY is a gorgeous state. 10. As is Tennessee. 11. Ditto for NC....at least it was as far as Ashville, which is all the farther we went. 12. The Biltmore, while old, huge and gorgeous, is a rip off. 13. The Smokey Mountains are AMAZING!!! 14. BBQ is better in the south. 15. The accent is not. 16. Moonshine is disgusting. 17. Gout is horrible to have when 90% of the time you are on your feet. 18. There are asshole drivers everywhere. 19. The jean short to non jean short ratio is staggeringly high among males ages 18-45. 20. The drive to Gatlingburg is well worth it, and so gorgeous, I recommend it to everyone.
