Obviously, Lorraines opinion differs from the majority of those following Trinkets story (and, btw, according to Facebook, there are now 42,000). This is exactly why a veterinarian is called in before horses can be seized. A vets expertise trumps all. When a complaint comes in, law enforcement or an animal cruelty officer will typically go have a look. If the owner doesnt want to allow them on the property, a search warrant would need to be obtained. If theres reason to believe an animal is at risk, a vet is called in. Trinket would not have been removed if a vet didnt recommend it. Lorraines opinion doesnt matter but its important to see how some individuals view this sort of thing. Fortunately there are laws to protect horses from a person like this. ***Lorraine Gregory Holdridge How do you all know she wasnt happy where she was, just a pony with chronic founder, a relatively common thing with ponies, and in need of burr removal? How do you know know that the changes you did were not what caused this pony distress? I dont know the story...the picture of her in her home showed a pony that certainly needed a hoof trim, and brush, but not really anything more..you people stepped in and now shes dead. Hummm....
