Obviously, September 11th is remembered by most people for the events in New York in 2001, but for me, the date will always have a second, and more personal significance. On this day in 2004, almost 25 years after developing a deep and abiding love of Rush, I finally saw them live in the NEC in Birmingham along with my brother Fergal Kavanagh. That tour was their 30th anniversary celebration (with the same line up, still intact this year for the 40th!), and as part of the celebration they recorded and played some of their favourites from when they were learning to play back on the 60s. Here;s one of them, recorded as few weeks earlier in NY.
