Occupational Health and Safety / Emergency Response Co-ordinator Doray Minerals Limited (ASX: DRM) was listed on the ASX in February 2010 and was one of Australias best performing IPOs that year as a result of the green-fields exploration discovery at the Andy Well Gold Project in Western Australia. Since the discovery Doray has, through successful exploration, continued to significantly grow the resource base at the Companys Andy Well Gold Project. Following the successful development and commissioning of the Andy Well Project through 2013, the Andy Well Mine is now in full production. In addition, Doray also has a strategic portfolio of excellent gold properties and prospects within Western Australia and South Australia and each offers multiple discovery opportunities. The company is seeking applications from experienced Occupational Safety and Health professionals to undertake the role of Occupations Health and Safety / Emergency Response Co-ordinator, based at our Andy Well Gold Mine located near Meekatharra. Reporting to the Manager Systems and Compliance, the focus of the Occupational Health and Safety / Emergency Response Co-ordinator will be to co-ordinate and train the Mines Rescue team, provide on-site medic services and general Health and Safety related duties. Key responsibilities will include: •Implementing and maintaining the sites Safety Management System •Working closely with site personnel to minimizing or eliminating risk of injury and unsafe practices on site •Communicate with all personnel on health and safety related matters •To train and coordinate the Mines Rescue Team •Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Mining Contractor and other contractor personnel on site to ensure that Company standards are maintained •Provide an efficient and confidential medical service to site based personnel •Review pre-employment and fitness for work assessments •Incident investigation •Injury management This will be supported by the following qualifications, skills and characteristics; •Significant working experience in OHS / Safety •Underground mining industry experience (essential) •Experience in developing, training and maintaining an Emergency Response and Mines Rescue team •Confidence in preparing and conducting training sessions / inductions on site and online •Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (supported by industry experience) •Emergency Response Qualifications in line with the Resources Infrastructure Training Package (Cert III Mines Rescue) or National Public Safety Training Package (PUA) •Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor (highly regarded) •Minimum of Industrial Medic (IM, IER) First Aid qualification or equivalent •Current Open C Class Drivers Licence •Certified Prohibited Substance Tester (desirable) •Experience in the maintenance of Safety Management System •A working knowledge of workers compensation legislation •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation •Experience using industry related software (experience using Skytrust highly regarded) • A good working knowledge of the WA Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations (essential) •The ability to work as part of a small and autonomous team This career move will offer the successful person the opportunity to: •Work in an interesting and diverse role with some degree of autonomy •Be a part of a small, committed and friendly team •FIFO ex Perth on an 8:6 roster cycle To be considered for this role, please forward your CV and a brief covering letter to by following the APPLY NOW PROMPTS Please note: candidates will not be accepted or considered from third party recruitment consultancies.
