#OccupyCentral The Chinese government promised to allow democracy in Hong Kong, a promise they didnt keep. Peaceful protests were organized - things only became violent when the police came to clear the protesters. Protesters have been removed by force: dragged, beaten, pepper sprayed, tear gassed. They have only umbrellas, goggles, and face masks to protect them from police in riot gear, and have remained peaceful despite the atrocities done to them. Now, police are rolling in in armoured vehicles armed with guns, threatening to shoot people with plastic bullets. On social media I have seen cases of injured protesters being turned away from hospitals who do not want to be associated with the movement. This needs to be stopped before another 3000 people are killed by the Chinese government for wanting democracy like in Tiamen. Please help bring attention to the situation and put international pressure on China to stop harming their people to enforce their communist regime.
