Ocean Roots We took a trip with no GPS, no phones and a very vintage road atlas when we were 14 with our friends and Mom. It turned into a magical vacation more lampoon then real. We ended up on roads that were no longer on the map. Removed by whom who knows??? All we know is that we ended up on a ranch above a small city called Roswell, New Mexico in the twilight zone. We found an old road and unbeknownst to us it was the very road that transected the actual crash site of the alien UFO in 1942. It was 2 am in the morning when we were at the actual site of the crash. On what we later found out was the actual anniversary of the actual crash 42 years earlier. No one in the town of Roswell even knows how to find that site or get up there we were told by the night watchman at the hotel when we checked into it about 2 hours later. He wanted to know how we found it in the middle of the night. Well, we had found plenty...Between the giant and I mean giant meteors , ORBS, dust storm from hell, buffalo fur flying and little gray men appearing on our film about 4 foot tall, I would dare say we had a Pumpkin Man sized vacation in the cornfield. That knee in your back its not your foot. Oh and those roads are no longer on the maps. Time for another vintage map vacation...GPS and the cell phones navigating our world takes all mystery out of the travel experience wouldnt you agree?
